Fruit Ginger Ale Molded Salad -1925
From 1925 the Fruit Ginger Ale Molded Salad can be served for desert or on the side. Grapes, oranges, and bananas are suspended in a ginger ale infused mold. Quick, easy, and sure to impress!
Ingredients
- 2½ Tbs Gelatin Powder
- 3 Tbs Cold Water
- ⅓ cup Hot Water
- ¼ cup Lemon Juice ((fresh if possible))
- 2 Tbs Sugar
- 1 Cup Ginger Ale
- ½ cup Red Grapes ((halved))
- 1 Banana ((peeled and thinly sliced))
- 2 Oranges* ((peeled and cut into segments with membrane removed))
- ¼ cup Chopped Nuts ((optional))
Instructions
- In a heat proof bowl, soak gelatin in cold water for 3-5 minutes. Add hot water and gently stir to dissolve.
- Stir in lemon juice, sugar, and ginger ale. Place in refrigerator to chill until it begins to thicken.
- Stir in fruit and nuts and pour into mold. Chill in refrigerator until set and ready to serve. Serve chilled.
Notes
*Can substitute 1 drained can of Mandarin oranges.
Serving Suggestions
+ Add 1/4 cup shredded coconut
+ Pair with jerk chicken, BBQ, or other roast meat
+ Substitute lemon gelatin for unflavored
