Walnut Butter Cookies - 1940
Perfect for autumn and winter baking, these rich little Walnut cookies are buttery and have a subtle hint of coffee and spice. Quick, easy, and egg-free.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup Flour
- ½ cup Granulated Sugar
- ⅛ tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Instant Coffee
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 2 cups Finely Chopped Walnuts
- 1 cup Butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°
- In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, salt, coffee, and spices.
- With pastry blender (or two knives) cut in butter until even crumbly meal is formed.
- Work in 1 cup of walnuts and press dough together to form a ball.
- Using a tablespoon scoops and form dough into balls. Roll balls in remaining chopped walnuts and place on an un-greased baking sheet.
- Bake 20-22 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Remove and cool on rack.
